Normally if any one breaks its the jack shaft chain which drives both the cam chains. Several things you can check though... My first check would be to see if the fan is working. Pull the electrical connector off of the T-Stat housing and the fan should kick on. This is the most common problem with teryxs. Primary fuel filter most likely. Filter is small can't take much dirt. Buy oem filters only. Do it seasonally or when needed. Keep fuel cans and tank clean. I was checking all the connections to and from the FI system, and I noticed my idle air sensor which attaches right to that valve assembly with 3 hoses was really hot. Alarmingly so, in fact. It was turning over a little slower than normal and it almost wanted to start. When I pulled the battery out it barely had any fluid in it. So I knew it was bad. I'm amazed it even had the power to turn it over. Not sure why the Teryx needs so much juice to start.It would depend on how stripped down the machine is when dropped off. Sierra Teryx- if you have an OD plate check to see if the bushing is walking out of the plate, thus not allowing the clutch not to fully open up and "acting" like a tight belt. The problem is low seat pressure when you rev these motors higher then stock. The single springs don't have enough seat pressure to hold the valves on the seat,and they bounce when they hit the seat. Now you put heavier valves in and it might be happening even faster.

I have a dedicated set of feeler gauges that have some bends in them to get a better angle on them.
