The S33 is expensive but IMO the best out there. If you want to take advantage of the over provision to 1.2 Gb you will need to up your budget. I wouldn't worry about it especially if your clients are wireless. Focus on having a good wireless setup. But no the 1 Gb port on the S33 will not be used unless you have multiple IPs from Comcast.The best benefit of the s33 is that it has a 1.0Gbps port AND a 2.5Gbps port. So if you had gigabit internet as your plan, and have the right hardware on your devices (or usb c to usb ethernet adapter) you could take full advantage of the plan by plugging your ethernet into the 2.5Gbps port to pull 1440Mbps download speeds !!Arris S33 gigabit speed issues, upstream power low, Xfinity says it's the modem, Arris disagrees.
