If you have a 5 spd NAG1 tranny from mercedes its very common for the speed sensor to get gunked up and cause limp mode. Part cost around $150. On 3 consecutive days on my way home from work, the car went into a limp mode - it would not go above 52mph and autostick would not work. also felt like power was greatly reduced -- it normally idles at about 5mph but when it hits this mode, idle doesn't move the car at all.Around 6 months ago I pulled the intake off and replaced all 4 solenoids and put it all back together. Now, the car will start and idle fine, takes throttle normally, and drives normally for a couple of blocks, then it goes into limp mode. The only codes I get are the P3449 MDS 7 circuit open so apparently replacing the solenoids didn't work ...
