1918 - 1911 Barrel Identification. I need help identifying this barrel. It comes from a 1911Colt serial #477,xxx that dates the gun to 1918. The barrel has no letters on the lug. It has an ampersand on the bottom of the barrel. On the top center of the barrel is the remnants of stamping. It may be the top of HP and that makes the barrel a Type 5.General Service Buttons 1850s to 1902. The larger of the two buttons has rust on the back and will need to be cleaned and preserved. They are a deep concave button with two holes and tiny ridges on the edge. They would look fantastic on yourMODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY. Other Slide Marks: What looks like an "H" under the rear sight, above the firing pin where the hammer falls. On the frame it says: UNITED STATES PROPERTY.
