I had FTE problems with a new Micro 9. I called Kimber on 3/25 and they created a RMA to get the pistol looked at under warranty. On 3/26, it was headed back to Kimber via UPS 2 day service, with Kimber paying for shipping. I received the pistol back on 4/6. Micro 9 pistols dropping the mag under recoil is a common problem. Mine went back to the mother ship for the same reason as have many others. It's not a problem with the shorter mags because the pinky rests under the mag, helping to keep it in place. But the longer mags frequently have the problem.YES: Kimber should have better QC in an area that seems a common problem. My Micro 9 had ejection issues too. It worked fine for maybe the first 1,000 rounds. Then it got worse pretty fast. ( fail to eject ) TUNE the extractor like you would a 1911. ( factory shoulda done yours better....since it's new )
Mar 14, 2020 · I had the same light strike issues with my Micro 9. Gave it a good clean and lube before heading to the range. I was averaging one light strike per mag. I called Kimber CS and a gentleman told me that it was a fairly common problem. Nosediving. Have to drop the mag, clear the round, close the slide, insert the mag, and rerack to chamber correctly.
