I just started building a M1101 overland trailer. The first day I started off by sanding down the majority of the trailer, taping off the lights, and spraying primer gray over the entire body. I lock my trailer with a nice master lock tongue lock, a padlock on the normal hitch lock and a cheapy wheel lock on one of the wheels. I feel like they are there to keep the honest people honest. I'm very confident that this system is more than adequate while the trailer is parked at a developed campsite with other people around.Cheap. like $10 for 8' or something like that. I'd go 3/4". So you just need to slide the part on the pipe up until you are hitting the thing you want to support (trailer bed, corner of your RTT etc), and if there is some weight on it, it'll just stay there.
